About this course:

 

Introduction to Cross-cultural Communication aims to enhance your understanding of interactions between people of different cultures. You will learn about a well-known cross-cultural theory and how it is relevant to cross-cultural communication. You will also explore a number of key topics in cross-cultural communication. Each unit consists of a video lecture, checkpoint quizzes, discussion activities, and learning resources. After completing the course, you will be able to: 

explain the theory and issues in both oral and written forms;

understand and analyze cultural differences;

identify potential misunderstandings or conflicts in cross-cultural situations;

develop strategies to cope with cross-cultural misunderstandings or conflicts;

gain a better understanding of your own culture.

 

Course level: Freshman

Commitment: 3 weeks of study, 4-6 hours/week
